Royce White Undecided On Draft, Will Defer Decision To Hoiberg

Mar 18, 2012 11:20 AM

Royce White hasn’t decided if he’s going to declare for this year’s NBA draft.

“I don’t know yet,” said White after scoring 23 points and grabbing nine rebounds in Iowa State’s 87-71 loss against Kentucky in the NCAA South Regional. “I’ll just wait until after the season, talk to coach see what he thinks and leave it in his hands.

“I trust him.”

Cyclones coach Fred Hoiberg spent three seasons as assistant general manager of the Timberwolves, where he oversaw the team's pro and college scouting and draft preparations.

“We’ll evaluate all that in the next couple weeks,” Hoiberg said. “He’s put himself in a position to do a lot of things, and it’s my job to make calls.

“He had a phenomenal year. Royce certainly put himself in a position where he has some options.”
